Can I be arrested or charged without any evidence?
I often get the question, “Can I be charged? How was I charged without any evidence?” Well, you can’t be, but what people don’t realize, oftentimes, is that the simple statement or the simple testimony of one person is evidence. Technically, the state does not need any corroboration, they don’t need another witness, they don’t need any physical evidence. If a person makes an allegation, that is evidence. So, a person can be charged simply on the statement or accusation of one person, and it happens.
